CTO For Hire was engaged by an Australian Federal Government department to run a focused stakeholder consultation, evaluation & feedback process. The engagement was in close partnership with an industry advocacy body with a goal to provide a neutral engagement model for participants from competing organisations.

The engagement was delivered in two parts:

Plan and facilitate an on-site industry consultation in a hackathon format. Participants would analyse and explore a new initiative that would be mandatory. This also acted as a mechanism to socialise future regulations & compliance requirements.
Synthesise feedback, and combined with domain expertise, provide feasibility recommendations to the department regarding delivery methods and costings for a future software/technology build.

The hackathon was run successfully with participating organisations providing high-impact insights and recommendations to the department’s program leaders.

The final report was accepted by the department to inform its forward planning.

The department remains enthusiastic about the viability and impact of pursuing this project and is awaiting future federal budgets to progress the initiative.
