CTO For Hire was subcontracted by an agency to provide technical leadership during a cloud migration project.

The Node JS + MongoDB application was to be migrated from an unmanaged AWS EC2 environment to a unified, centrally managed Azure App Services environment. The project involved stakeholders across 4 different organisations and required careful consideration for the handling of healthcare and PII Data.

CTO For Hire provided:

- Initial technical and risk assessments along with recommendations for mitigations
- Technical & product plans for the cloud migration
- Managed clear lines of ownership & accountability in a complex multi-stakeholder environment.

The project successfully:

- Migrated from AWS to Azure with minimal downtime (as planned & communicated)
- Addressed several security risks raised during initial assessment
- Positioned the HealthTech application for future R&D post-migration
- De-risked the business's core service offering by more proactively managing source code, production environments & release processes.
